Bringing carnival joy to you
Bloco Jam available to book to perform parades, stage shows and to teach workshops aimed at both adults and children. We have experience in working with people of all ages and al backgrounds, from migrant children, to adults who have never touched a drum before, to people with disabilities. We believe everyone can play, and sharing music together can bring happiness and joy into peoples lives.
Parades
A carnival band is an excellent addition to any parade, bringing energy and smiles. We have played Hackney Carnival, Output Arts Constellations, Marinella Senatore’s Afterglow, along with many smaller community parades for children and adults. For parades we need at least 6 musicians, and we can provide basic instruments and put together easy to follow compositions if you would like to get more actively involved.
Stage show
We have a 30 minute stage set inspired by various types of Brazilian Carnival music including Samba Batucada, Afoxe, Samba Reggae. We’ve played sets for the Roundhouse, Jazz on the Green, Melanin Lunchbox and many more. For this we require a minimum of 4 musicians.
